Internal Elixir
Ten minutes later, Ye Feng finally spoke. “How is this possible? That round object in my dantian—could it be a core?” His voice was full of disbelief.
“You’ve formed a core!” This time, it was Long Xiaotian who was astonished. Ever since Ye Feng awoke, Long Xiaotian had been unable to see through Ye Feng’s body. At the time, he suspected Ye Feng’s cultivation method had already achieved some success, but he never imagined Ye Feng had actually condensed a core.
“If that sphere is what you say it is, then yes.” Ye Feng tried to sit up and found his body brimming with strength—nothing like someone who’d lain in bed for ten years.
He then attempted to stand, startling Andrea, who quickly hurried over to support him, her voice full of concern. “You’ve only just woken up, don’t push yourself.”
“It’s fine. I feel stronger than I did before I fell unconscious, my whole body is filled with energy.” Ye Feng gently pushed Andrea’s hand away and stood up steadily.
He hopped a few times and paced back and forth, just as Amy and the other women arrived. Seeing Ye Feng moving so energetically, all of them covered their mouths and began to weep with joy.
Ye Feng naturally heard their footsteps and, recalling their tears the day before, quickly tried to comfort them. “Why are you all crying? I’m perfectly alright.”
Without another word, Amy threw herself into Ye Feng’s arms. The other women understood Amy’s place in Ye Feng’s heart and did not compete with her for the spot.
After a while, Amy quietly left Ye Feng’s embrace, and the rest of the sisters vied to hold him, turning the atmosphere infinitely warmer.
It was a long time before Ye Feng finally spoke again. “Is everyone alright?”
The women all nodded silently.
Seeing this, Ye Feng let out a sigh of relief.
“You must have realized the changes within your body by now,” Long Xiaotian finally said, breaking the tender mood.
“Yes, I do feel different. My body is full of power, and there’s a strange red and blue energy flowing through my veins. What exactly happened?” Ye Feng replied, then pressed for an explanation.
“The plant you consumed from Earth contained an immense amount of ice and fire energy—so vast it’s unimaginable. Your body entered a state of self-sealing. Though you lost consciousness, your body was undergoing transformation by the ice and fire energies. These energies didn’t just modify your physical form, but also your meridians, and began circulating along them on their own. Although I don’t understand why they followed the path of the cultivation art Long Xuan taught you, perhaps it’s fate. So, during your ten years of coma, you accomplished what my ancestors strived for over a thousand years: you became the second Sky Dragon in history to cultivate a core on your own,” Long Xiaotian said excitedly.
“A Sky Dragon? Me? I’ve really become a Sky Dragon?” Ye Feng asked in astonishment.
“In theory, yes. At least your inner meridians are that of a Sky Dragon,” Long Xiaotian replied with a smile.
“So what can I do now? I heard from Huaihuai that you said I’m your only hope.” Ye Feng asked.
“Try using your core to sense the distant Sky Dragon Star, then send a message to the old patriarch to bring help,” Long Xiaotian answered.
“How do I do that exactly?” Ye Feng was completely at a loss.
“Every Sky Dragon’s core is unique. Sending a message relies on yourself—you must find your own way. I don’t have anything to teach you. I can only tell you the Sky Dragon Star is five hundred billion light-years to the northeast. The ancestor who created that cultivation art left behind no useful information other than the method itself. The rest is up to you,” Long Xiaotian said with a shrug.
“That’s not helpful at all. The enemy is nearly at our door, and you want me to figure this out myself? That’s madness.” Ye Feng grumbled.
But despite his complaints, he returned to the sickbed, closed his eyes, and tried to sense the distant Sky Dragon Star in the northeast as Long Xiaotian had suggested.
Whether it was his lack of method or a restless heart, Ye Feng felt nothing from the vastness of space—only that the energy within him seemed somewhat peculiar.
“I can’t do it. I don’t sense anything. Are you sure I can?” Ye Feng looked at Long Xiaotian in confusion.
“To be honest, I’m not sure. But given our situation, you’re our only hope. Even though Yun Feng and I have recovered to our peak, we can’t possibly kill thousands of Sky Dragons—we’d die of exhaustion. Unless you can call my clansmen here,” Long Xiaotian said.
“How confident are you that I can succeed?” Ye Feng asked, not particularly optimistic.
“You weren’t born or raised on Sky Dragon Star, so you don’t know the legend of my ancestor. He possessed many incredible powers, all of which came from the core he cultivated himself. So I believe you can do it. I’m a hundred percent certain you’ll succeed in summoning my people,” Long Xiaotian assured him.
“I hope so. I definitely can’t do it now; I’ll need a couple of days to adjust,” Ye Feng said uncertainly.
“As you should,” Long Xiaotian replied, then turned and left. He could see that the women had much they wished to say.
Long Xiaotian was right; as soon as he left, the women surrounded Ye Feng and began to pour out their hearts. Ten years had left them with too much to say.
Ye Feng listened to their stories from morning until afternoon, not caring about the situation outside. As he listened, he quietly observed his own body and asked Huaihuai to thoroughly scan him.
Huaihuai was always efficient, and soon his voice sounded in Ye Feng’s mind.
“Ye Feng, I can no longer assess your level, but I did find something interesting,” Huaihuai said with excitement.
“What’s so interesting?” Ye Feng asked.
“I think I’ve figured out why Long Xiaotian’s ancestor had so many special abilities,” Huaihuai replied, laughing.
“And what does that have to do with me?” Ye Feng asked in confusion.
“It’s highly relevant. If my guess is correct, you’ll gain two special abilities as well,” Huaihuai said seriously.
“Ice and fire?” Ye Feng guessed.
“Exactly. If I’m right, you now have the power to control both ice and fire. I’m not sure of their strength, but the energy within you is incredibly potent—stronger than anyone in my database,” Huaihuai said.
“Tell me more. What exactly is going on?” Ye Feng’s interest was piqued.
