As he stepped out of the police station, he spotted Luo Ming dozing in his beloved car. Luo Ming only awakened when Ye Feng knocked on the window.

"Eh, you're out? Are you alright?" Luo Ming asked, yawning.

"With you around, Young Master Luo, how could anything happen to me? Where did you run off to yesterday? It's so late and you're still not fully awake."

"Nah, the guys at home dragged me to karaoke until midnight, then to a nightclub. I have no idea when I got back," Luo Ming replied.

"Go home and get some sleep. I'm fine—you didn't need to come all the way here," Ye Feng teased.

"Don’t joke about it. You’re my one true brother; if anything happened to you, who would I share my troubles with? But honestly, had it not been for this incident, I’d never have guessed you could fight so well. You took down more than twenty punks by yourself, and without a scratch! When did you learn all that? I never knew," Luo Ming perked up, clearly intrigued by the brawl.

"It’s not as dramatic as you think. None of them were any good. I struck first, hurt a couple to intimidate the rest, and after that, they just stood there like fools, letting me hit them," Ye Feng said, mocking the situation—he certainly couldn’t admit he’d turned superhuman thanks to some pills.

"Oh, that makes sense. You taking on twenty guys alone? I’d never believe it with your small frame," Luo Ming nodded in agreement.

After Luo Ming drove Ye Feng back to the ancestral home, he refused to leave, claiming he wanted to reminisce. But Ye Feng knew better—it was all about the food. Although the Luo family chef was top-notch, Luo Ming had grown tired of the same dishes every day.

"Fine, if you’re here for a free meal, just say so instead of beating around the bush," Ye Feng tossed out, heading for a shower. That little dark room was no joke—even after just a few minutes, he was filthy.

Hot water poured over Ye Feng, making every cell in his body feel refreshed.

"You’re in much better shape than before," a mischievous, teasing voice suddenly sounded in his ear, startling Ye Feng.

"Is there a difference?" Ye Feng examined his smooth skin.

"Yes, I just ran a detailed scan. Your genes are strengthened by 470%. Both your explosive power and endurance are greatly improved. In fact, your enhancement surpasses anything in the future. According to my database, the most successful future drugs barely compare," the voice said, unusually serious.

"I knew it—I’m not ordinary, I’m a genius!" Ye Feng couldn’t help but be vain.

"Pfft, it's probably because my previous master improved the formula. You’re the first to use the modified version. The best part is, all your meridians are now unblocked. From now on, you won’t need to replenish my energy through food. You can cultivate internal energy to supplement me," the voice explained.

"So the reason I was overeating these past days was because of you? I nearly thought something was wrong with me," Ye Feng complained. "Wait, did you say internal energy? Are you joking? That kind of thing only exists in novels!"

"After meeting me, do you still believe there’s anything impossible in this world?" The voice sounded disdainful.

"But you’re a product of technological advancement—internal energy only appears in fiction."

"Let me tell you: as a descendant of the China Nation, you don’t even know your ancestors’ treasures! Internal energy has existed since ancient times, but as technology developed, humans damaged the environment and became weaker, making cultivation extremely difficult. That’s why so few know about it now."

"So how do I cultivate it? Just because I took that drug? And why are you only telling me now? Why not before?"

"It’s because of the drug. Before, your constitution wasn’t suitable for cultivation. The drug expanded your meridians threefold, and the internal energy technique in my database is an improved version. So now, you can barely start cultivating."

"Aside from supplementing your energy, what’s the use of practicing this? Can it really let someone fly or burrow underground? We’re in the era of hot weapons—could internal energy even block bullets?"

"You underestimate internal energy. Forget flying and burrowing—if you reach the highest level, you might traverse the universe, let alone block a bullet. Even if you couldn’t, I could. With enough energy, I could shield you from an atomic explosion. But only if you have enough energy."

"Really? How much energy would it take to block an atomic bomb?" Ye Feng felt as though he was dreaming; if he could withstand an atomic bomb, who would he ever fear?

"The technique I’ll teach you has nine levels. You’d need to reach at least the seventh level to provide enough energy. But if you reach the seventh level, you won’t need me anymore—your own protective aura could withstand it."

"Then what would I need you for? I could rely entirely on myself!"

"Enough talk. I’ll input the cultivation method directly into your mind. Take some time to figure it out; we’ll discuss other matters tonight. I need some rest, and you still have to cook a feast for that Luo kid," the voice said, disappearing without a trace, ignoring Ye Feng’s calls.

Ye Feng muttered under his breath, "Such an irresponsible fellow!"

After enjoying a comfortable shower, Ye Feng began to recall the influx of information in his mind. The internal energy techniques resembled those in novels, but were far more complex—he’d need guidance from that irresponsible entity, but it had vanished, so he’d have to wait until evening.

Entering the living room, Ye Feng found another guest: Amy was happily chatting with Luo Ming.

Amy’s presence made Ye Feng feel awkward. The moment she saw him, her expression changed; she’d been laughing with Luo Ming just moments before but now wore a stern face.

The atmosphere in the living room grew chilly. Luo Ming, curious, looked at Ye Feng and Amy. "What’s going on between you two? Weren’t you always getting along?"

Amy snorted, ignoring Luo Ming, and turned to Ye Feng. "Well, I hear you were pretty impressive today—facing off with more than twenty hoodlums alone."

Her tone was sarcastic, but Ye Feng detected a hint of concern. He scratched his head in resignation. "I didn’t have much choice. If your cousin hadn’t brought his gang to me, I wouldn’t have had to fight."

"What did you do to provoke him?" Amy asked in surprise; she’d only heard Ye Feng had been in a fight, but didn’t know the reason.

"It was just a minor thing. Why are you here?"

"Can’t I come?" Amy shot Ye Feng a glare.

"Of course, of course—you’re the boss, you call the shots. I’ll go cook. You two have fun," Ye Feng said, heading straight for the kitchen. He still didn’t know how to face Amy—not that he couldn’t let go, but he simply didn’t know what she was thinking.
