Chihuo had never felt so close to victory. He had pinned down Long Xiaotian and turned his gaze toward Long Yunfeng. Long Yunfeng was staring back at him with undisguised hatred.

“Get lost before I change my mind!” Chihuo laughed, while his men opened a path that led straight toward the limestone cavern.

“You’ll regret this!” Long Yunfeng said darkly, then flew off without looking back.

Once she was beyond Chihuo’s sight, he burst into laughter. “I never expected the inner core I obtained to belong to you, the future leader of the Celestial Dragon clan. This is truly beyond imagination…” He laughed so hard he could hardly finish.

With Long Yunfeng gone, Long Xiaotian relaxed considerably. “I’d like to say your luck is pretty good, but the fact is, you still lost.”

Chihuo blinked at those words, then said in surprise, “Do you still think you can escape now? Dream on!”

Long Xiaotian remained silent for more than ten seconds before smiling and saying, “Whether it’s a dream or not, you’ll know in a moment. As for now…”

He drew out the last word, and Chihuo suddenly felt a very bad premonition.

After another ten seconds, Long Xiaotian finally continued. “I can only say goodbye…”

Then, under everyone’s gaze, Long Xiaotian vanished. Yes, vanished completely, leaving no trace at all.

Chihuo was stunned. How had the duck in his hand flown away? No one knew. “Search everywhere for him! I refuse to believe he got away!” His triumphant smile was gone, replaced by a furious glare.

Among the Celestial Dragon clan, married couples possessed a secret technique never disclosed to outsiders. It was random in nature and only formed after the pair joined together. Unless they revealed it themselves, no one would ever know.

Long Xiaotian and Long Yunfeng had an extraordinary technique of their own: they could teleport to one another. Of course, it was not without limits. They could use it only twice a day, and each time no farther than two hundred kilometers.

After receiving Long Xuan’s message, the two had already devised a plan, and Chihuo had helped them carry it out step by step, unwittingly assisting their escape.

Although the distance they had covered through teleportation was only two hundred kilometers, that was still enough to keep Chihuo and his men chasing for a long time.

Afterward, the two continued flying. Long Xiaotian had been injured, so his speed was somewhat slower, and Chihuo’s people gradually closed in. But Long Yunfeng, who had left first, was already close to the cavern.

“Farewell, Chihuo, you little fool!” Long Xiaotian laughed twice, then disappeared again.

Ye Shihan had been waiting at the entrance to receive them. After getting the good news from Huaihuai, she activated the hidden mechanism over the cave mouth. Fortunately, there were no pursuers right behind them, and the two entered the cavern smoothly.

By nature, the Celestial Dragon clan was kind-hearted, especially toward those who helped them. So Long Yunfeng said to Ye Shihan, “We truly have to thank you all. If not for you, we really would have been finished this time.”

“No need to mention it. Is Long Xuan your child?” Ye Shihan asked.

“Yes. Is he all right?” Though Long Yunfeng could tell from his soul’s strength that Long Xuan was probably not in serious danger, she still asked anxiously.

“He’s fine. He’s just in core form now. I’ll take you to see him.”

After speaking to Long Yunfeng, Ye Shihan turned to Ye Tianhua. “I’ll leave this place to you. Be sure to keep a tight defense. They probably haven’t let the pursuers discover their trail yet.”

“Yes.” Ye Tianhua took the order and went off to guard.

Hearing that Long Xuan had been reduced to a core, Long Yunfeng hurriedly wanted to ask what had happened, but Long Xiaotian stopped her. He could tell that the woman speaking was not a bad person, and she carried none of that aura that belonged to those who harmed Celestial Dragons.

Anyone who had harmed a Celestial Dragon carried a certain mark upon them, an aura that would follow them all the way to the grave. Such people were best never encountered by a Celestial Dragon group, or they would die horribly.

When Ye Shihan led Long Xiaotian and his wife to Ye Feng’s room, the first thing they saw was the inner core cradled in Ye Shize’s hands.

“Little Dragon’s father and mother have arrived. Little Dragon has been waiting for you for a long time.” The child’s voice was sweet beyond measure as he held out the core.

Long Xiaotian and Long Yunfeng were too shaken to remain calm. They had finally found the child who had vanished for so many years. Though he had lost his body, the fact that they could find him at all was already a tremendous blessing.

After some time spent talking, Long Xiaotian and his wife finally pieced together the full story of Long Xuan’s disappearance and also learned what had happened on Earth.

“Thank you for taking care of our child,” Long Xiaotian said. He knew that the humans before him could hardly be said to have cared for Long Xuan in the proper sense, but at the very least, they had not treated him like a mere tool.

“You’re too kind. If not for Long Xuan, Brother Feng might already have died. We should be thanking him instead,” Amy said. As the eldest wife, it was only natural that she spoke up at a time like this.

“No need for politeness. What we should be thinking about now is how to deal with the trash outside.”

Huaihuai’s voice suddenly rang out.

“What’s happened outside?” Amy asked.

“Have a look for yourselves.” As he spoke, Huaihuai projected the surveillance footage from outside.

In just this short time, the area around the cavern had been surrounded by Chihuo’s people and Angus’s men. Though they had not found the place yet, it was certain they would not remain ignorant for long. When that happened, it would become another grueling defensive battle.

“I’m Amy. This is Ye Shihan, this is…” Amy quickly introduced everyone, then asked, “And those are… well… what should we call the two of you?”

“My name is Long Xiaotian, and this is my wife, Long Yunfeng,” Long Xiaotian replied.

“Why didn’t you go directly to Celestial Dragon Star for help?” Huaihuai asked.

“How do you know Celestial Dragon Star exists?” Long Xiaotian asked in surprise. He was not doubting Huaihuai’s intentions; he simply found it impossible that Earth’s technology could know there were other life forms beyond the universe.

“Of course Earth’s current level of development couldn’t know that,” Huaihuai said with a smile. “But I’m from five hundred years in the future, so I know a little about Celestial Dragon Star. It’s only very shallow information, though. It seems you don’t like going out much.”

“Oh? Five hundred years in the future. What an astonishing thing.” Long Xiaotian sighed. “Yes, we really do not like going out. We did want to seek help from Celestial Dragon Star, but now it’s impossible. Chihuo has already sealed off information transmission on this planet, so we can’t send anything back.”

“Then do your people know you’ve come to Earth? Will they come rescue you?” Amy asked.

“Although they know we came to Earth, they do not approve of our coming here. So they won’t come for the time being. Unless we can send a message, which I’m afraid Chihuo will not allow us to do,” Long Xiaotian said, his outlook clearly grim.

“Then there’s no other way?” Huaihuai asked.

“The only hope is him.” Long Xiaotian pointed at Ye Feng lying on the hospital bed.
