The ever-growing internal energy circulated slowly through Ye Feng’s Ren and Du meridians, as countless particles of energy were absorbed from the outside and drawn into his channels, further strengthening the power within. Ye Feng steadily guided his inner force forward; now he’d reached the apex of the sixteenth cycle, preparing to launch an assault on the seventeenth.

Reaching the eighteenth cycle would mean another breakthrough, and now that Ye Feng had achieved the sixteenth, the eighteenth was within reach. Thus, he resolved to attempt the challenge of the seventeenth cycle.

The seventeenth cycle was particularly arduous. After several days of trying, Ye Feng could clearly feel the difficulty. Fortunately, experience was on his side. Though progress was slow, his internal energy pressed resolutely onward through his meridians.

Had this been in the past, Ye Feng might have chosen to pause and accumulate more energy—he understood well the wisdom of building strength before unleashing it. But with the start of the new semester just days away, Ye Feng was keen not to be discovered by his roommates practicing in the dormitory. He wanted to elevate his internal skills to the second level before school began.

With time running short, Ye Feng focused with all his might, determined to reach the next stage. Eyes closed, his mind serene, he understood that haste would only hinder him, so he advanced his internal force bit by bit.

As his energy crept forward, millimeter by painstaking millimeter, beads of sweat began to form on Ye Feng’s brow, falling drop by drop. His brows drew together in a pained frown—a testament to the struggle he endured—yet he showed no sign of giving up.

Gradually, his teeth clenched tightly, sweat pouring more profusely from his forehead, his entire body beginning to tremble. After several more minutes, Ye Feng’s body finally relaxed, his complexion returning to normal. Not only that, but a smile emerged on his face.

“At last, I’ve broken through the seventeenth cycle…” Ye Feng slowly opened his eyes, excitement shining within them. He had been on the verge of giving up, so close yet not quite there, but with a few more minutes of stubborn effort he had succeeded. He’d broken through to the seventeenth cycle, only one short of reaching the second level...

Ye Feng got up and took a cold shower, rinsing away his sweat before returning to bed. Sinking into the soft covers, he let out a contented sigh. What a wonderful bed! He hadn’t slept in it for days, having spent every moment except mealtimes training...

As sleepiness overtook him, Ye Feng once again slipped into deep dreams. Huaihuai appeared, his face full of mischief and joy: “Not bad, not bad… You’re about to break through again so soon. I must say, you’ve exceeded my expectations…”

Ye Feng glanced at Huaihuai with a wry look. “How long did you think it would take?”

“I thought, given your current dedication, it would be at least half a month before you reached this level…” Huaihuai chuckled, clearly pleased. “But you’ve grown so much stronger. Looks like you changed a lot after the last banquet. Did you figure something out? Otherwise, I doubt you’d have made it through this hurdle so smoothly…”

Hearing this, Ye Feng raised his brows and realized that Huaihuai was right. Since that banquet, after coming to terms with certain things, he had found himself able to persevere through every bottleneck in training.

“Just two days until the new term starts. You’ve been working so hard, and the energy you’ve provided is abundant. Want to learn something ahead of time?” Huaihuai asked, his tone mysterious.

“Yeah, just two days left…” Ye Feng hadn’t been keeping track. “What are you plotting now?” Huaihuai’s words always carried a threat—Ye Feng still remembered how Schwarzenegger had dealt with him.

“No need to be so nervous! Today’s lesson is one you’ll love. Look!” With a wave of his hand, Huaihuai summoned an extraordinarily dazzling machine into the middle of the field.

Seeing what appeared, Ye Feng was delighted. The sleek design, smooth bodywork, gleaming headlights, and comfortable seats—this was his favorite car. Looking up, he asked softly, “Is this a Rolls-Royce?”

“That’s right, it’s the Silver Phantom, one of the Rolls-Royce family’s most stunning sports cars,” Xiaodao replied with a smile. “In this era, Rolls-Royce produces only a few thousand cars a year—hardly a blip compared to global auto giants. It’s a true symbol of status, and the Silver Phantom is the pinnacle of exclusivity.”

Ye Feng stroked the dazzling red sports car, then said to Huaihuai, “You give me such a great car to drive, how will I ever get used to ordinary ones in real life? You’re just making things harder for me…”

Huaihuai shrugged innocently. “Suit yourself. If you prefer, I can swap it for a regular car. In fact, I’ll give you the worst QQ model out there—it’s as basic as they come. That way, you definitely won’t have any trouble adapting…”

“Uh… let’s not. If you make me train on a QQ, I’d rather die…” Ye Feng hurriedly laughed it off, stroking the car again. “If I can’t drive it in reality, I might as well enjoy it here.”

Xiaodao grinned knowingly and said, “I knew you’d react like that—complaining but itching to get behind the wheel. Get in!”

Ye Feng settled into the car, marveling at the luxurious interior, and couldn’t help but wonder when he’d ever truly own one himself.

But Huaihuai didn’t let him dwell. “Alright, enough daydreaming. You’ve got one minute to get familiar with the controls—we’re about to begin some serious training.”

“What?” Ye Feng barely had time to process before the session began.

Fifty hours later, Ye Feng was expertly handling the top-tier sports car. On a regular road, he could easily outmatch a professional racer.

Huaihuai watched Ye Feng’s wild driving with satisfaction. The recent training had been intense: internal energy by day, martial arts and knowledge by night. It was only right to let him cut loose once in a while. According to Huaihuai’s research, men had always chased speed—racing was the ultimate outlet.

After a while, seeing Ye Feng had had his fill, Huaihuai suggested, “How about something a bit more exciting?”

Before Ye Feng could respond, Huaihuai snapped his fingers. Suddenly, the once-empty highway was crowded with all sorts of vehicles speeding toward him—large, medium, and small.

“Ah…” Engrossed in the thrill of high speed, Ye Feng saw the oncoming traffic and frantically swerved. But the vehicles were too fast, and his car was sent flying in a series of collisions. Pale-faced, Ye Feng extricated himself from the airbag, turned to the grinning Huaihuai, and shouted weakly, “Huaihuai, what the hell! Do you have any idea how terrifying that was? Can’t you just train me normally?”

“Who says this isn’t normal training? I’m not teaching you to race for sport. Only by training under all conditions can you truly improve. You have to adapt to every terrain and every vehicle—otherwise, how will you face GOD in the future? Who knows when you might be hunted down?” Huaihuai lectured earnestly.

“Come on, let’s continue. How about we switch to a normal sedan? You need to get used to all kinds of cars—there’s more excitement ahead…” With a wave of his hand, the car instantly transformed.

Ye Feng glanced at his seat and the familiar logo on the steering wheel, poked his head out the window, and surveyed the car’s body. It was as ordinary as they came—a Santana, and a basic model at that.

Ye Feng shook his head speechlessly. “That’s a huge drop! Ever heard of taking things step by step?” he complained.

“How do you know what car you’ll have when you’re being chased? Be glad I didn’t give you an old Xiali. Stop being ungrateful—who else gets to switch cars at will like this?” Huaihuai’s rapid-fire retort left Ye Feng at a loss for words.

“You…”

“What about me? I’m your teacher now. Or do you want to go back and discuss dreams with Colonel Schwarzenegger? I wouldn’t mind.” Huaihuai grinned mischievously.

“Fine, you win!” At the threat of another beating, Ye Feng wilted. But inwardly he muttered, Just wait till I get the chance—I’ll get you back for this.

Almost as if he heard, Huaihuai chimed in at just the right moment, “Stop muttering. You’ll never get the chance—I don’t even have a body.”

Ye Feng nearly spat blood in frustration.
