Everyone pondered for a long time before Ye Shihan spoke, “Since little Shize can understand what the Heavenly Dragon Core says, why don’t we let him ask about Ye Feng’s condition? Agan.”

“But won’t that affect Ye Feng’s treatment?” Amy asked nervously.

“According to my analysis, it won’t. As long as the Heavenly Dragon Core isn’t moved, it won’t interfere with Ye Feng’s recovery. I support Shihan’s suggestion; perhaps little Shize will bring us some surprises,” Huaihuai replied with a mischievous smile.

“What about you?” Amy turned to look at the other sisters.

“I think it’s fine,” Lisa agreed, especially after Huaihuai assured them it wouldn’t affect Ye Feng.

Juliana and Hua Nengying nodded in agreement as well. Ouyang Lanlan and Nangong Jing exchanged glances and nodded too.

Seeing everyone in agreement, Ji Ludan gently carried little Shize forward, then said to him, “Shize, go ask little dragon how daddy is, alright?”

“Okay,” Shize replied cheerfully, nodding his head. He reached for the Heavenly Dragon Core, but his arms were too short to touch it. He struggled and stretched forward, looking adorable and amusing.

Ji Ludan quickly stepped closer and bent down, allowing Shize’s hand to touch the Core.

After a long two minutes, Shize withdrew his hand and said, “Daddy is almost better, and he’ll be even better than before.”

Everyone was stunned by his words. What did he mean by ‘better than before’? In what way? They were all confused.

Just as Ji Ludan was about to have Shize ask another question, the Heavenly Dragon Core suddenly emitted a dazzling light, so intense that the women had to close their eyes. Only Huaihuai could scan what was happening.

A streak of golden light rushed into Ye Feng’s body, coursed through the repaired meridians, and finally returned to the Core.

When the intense light faded, the women regained their sight. Everything had returned to calm; Ye Feng’s breathing was normal, and all the monitoring devices indicated stable readings.

The Heavenly Dragon Core vanished before their eyes, though Huaihuai clearly sensed it had entered Ye Feng’s spatial ring.

The women anxiously looked at Huaihuai, hoping for a more accurate update.

Understanding their concern, Huaihuai carefully scanned Ye Feng twice. Once certain Ye Feng was truly fine, he explained the situation to everyone, finally putting their worries to rest.

With Ye Feng’s condition confirmed, and at Huaihuai’s urging, only Hua Nengying remained in the ward while the others went to rest. After all, they had stood vigil there all day and needed no further strain.

Compared to the tense atmosphere in the Ocean Fortress, the situation on the ground was even more perilous.

After obtaining Chi You’s Core, Chi Huo withdrew alone into a room for ten minutes. When he emerged, he ordered Angus, Vengeance, and Andrea to gather their people and head to Africa—near Ye Feng’s old desert base—to search for the Heavenly Dragon Core.

Chi Huo had used clan secret techniques to read part of Chi You’s memories, thereby learning about the young Heavenly Dragon. He began searching along the route from Chi You’s recollections, but found nothing at all.

Frustrated, Chi Huo started checking everyone’s spatial rings. After the battle between Angus and Ye Feng, spatial rings became commonplace, with nearly anyone of means possessing one.

Many were unwilling to surrender their rings, but after Chi Huo conquered Earth, they had no rights at all. Those who refused to hand over their rings were executed; even the slightest hesitation meant death, though only after all their possessions were confiscated.

Yet, after inspecting all the rings, Chi Huo still failed to find the Heavenly Dragon Core. Enraged, he slaughtered a quarter of Earth’s population, shocking Andrea and Vengeance. Angus, however, remained calm; he had anticipated this, knowing well the cruelty of the Chi Dragon clan.

“Chief Chi Huo, I suppose you’re searching for something?” Angus asked with a smile.

“So what if I am? Do you have any information?” Chi Huo replied coldly.

“I have no news, but you must realize Earth’s land area is quite small—less than a third of the oceans. The item you’re seeking is most likely in the sea,” Angus said, smiling gently.

“And what solution do you propose?” Chi Huo asked, still indifferent.

“First, I’d like to know what exactly you’re searching for?” Angus countered.

Chi Huo hesitated for a moment, but then reasoned these insignificant beings had never left Earth and could not possibly know of the Heavenly Dragon species in the universe. He replied, “I’m searching for the core of a creature called the Heavenly Dragon, similar to Elder Chi You’s core. Do you have any ideas?”

Upon hearing ‘Heavenly Dragon Core’, Angus’s heart burned with excitement. He knew the significance of such a core. His excitement almost made him forget to respond, but he showed no outward sign.

Seeing Angus falter, Vengeance seized the chance, asking, “Chief Chi Huo, what are the characteristics and effects of this Heavenly Dragon Core?”

Angus inwardly sneered; the question was poorly posed. If Chi Huo wanted to share, he would have explained already.

Sure enough, Chi Huo’s expression soured. After a pause, he said, “It has no special effect, merely a unique collectible of the Chi Dragon clan. As for characteristics, it emits a peculiar energy fluctuation and a faint glow.”

Angus sneered internally, then spoke slowly, “I think we can use instruments to scan the coastal seas. If nothing is found, we can consider other options.”

“What are you waiting for? Get to it!” Chi Huo ordered. In his mind, as long as he supervised closely, these Earth creatures were mere ants—tools to be used.

“As you wish.” Angus hurried away. The news of the Heavenly Dragon Core was too important to him. He had once researched a weapon utilizing cores, achieving remarkable success and immense power, but lacking cores in this era, he could not replicate it. Now, hearing of the Heavenly Dragon Core, he was thrilled beyond measure.

Andrea followed him out, troubled by a strong sense of foreboding. She trusted her intuition deeply and decided to observe Angus’s actions.

Vengeance left as well, unwilling to be alone with Chi Huo, knowing his life could end at any moment.

After the trio departed, Chi Huo gave instructions to two Chi Dragon subordinates, who also left.
