Ye Feng suddenly thought of Xiao Feng, the future leader of the Xiao Gang. After a moment’s hesitation, he decided to call him. The call was quickly connected.

“Hello? Brother Xiao?”

“Ah, Ye Feng. Is something the matter?” Xiao Feng’s tone was cheerful; he genuinely liked this learned student.

“Brother Xiao, what I’m about to say might sound utterly unbelievable, but I hope you’ll trust me.” Ye Feng struggled to find a way to make Xiao Feng believe him.

“Go ahead.” Xiao Feng was a little taken aback by Ye Feng’s seriousness.

“Brother Xiao, your younger brother is the current boss of the Xiao Gang, right?”

“How did you know?” Xiao Feng asked instinctively.

“That’s not important. Tonight, the police will be conducting a surprise raid on the underworld in Haifeng City. Please warn your brother—make sure nothing happens to him.” Ye Feng’s tone was earnest. He understood Xiao Feng’s ambitions and didn’t want anything to happen to Xiao Qiang. If Xiao Qiang got into trouble, Xiao Feng would definitely be dragged back into that world.

“How do you know about this?” Xiao Feng was genuinely shocked by what his student was saying.

“That’s not for you to worry about. This is all I can do for you. It’s your choice now.” Ye Feng ended the call after saying this.

Xiao Feng stared at his phone for several seconds, then decided to trust Ye Feng. He immediately called Xiao Qiang, telling him to be careful. But Xiao Qiang didn’t believe him at all. He had just had a run-in with the Shark Gang and was on his way to hijack their goods. He didn’t believe there’d be any raids—after all, he had connections in high places.

Back to the scene at Shatter Paradise, although Ye Feng’s call lasted only a few dozen seconds, Li Yu had already been slapped twice and was being dragged forcibly toward Zhang Kunqiang.

Without hesitation, Ye Feng charged forward, kicking away the thug clutching Li Yu’s hair, and shouted, “Stop!”

He quickly lifted Li Yu up and set her aside.

Startled by Ye Feng’s shout, Zhang Kunqiang’s face darkened instantly. If a grown man had stood in his way, he might have accepted it, but to be interrupted by a mere youth was infuriating. His anger flared, and he pulled a pistol from his waistband, roaring, “You got a death wish, kid? You dare mess with me?!”

Gun drawn, Zhang Kunqiang stood up to face Ye Feng, shouting, “Move again! Go on, try it! Move and see if I don’t put a bullet in you!”

The moment Zhang Kunqiang aimed his gun at Ye Feng, the crowd froze in terror. Moments before, they’d thought Ye Feng was just asking for trouble and were curious to see how it would end. But now that a gun was involved, things were no longer amusing. If a stray bullet hit them, it would be the end.

Li Yu, beside him, was scared out of her wits, barely daring to breathe.

Facing the dark muzzle, Ye Feng couldn’t help but sneer. With his current skills, a mere pistol was nothing. The speed of a handgun’s bullet was no match for him any longer.

“What are you laughing at, boy?” Zhang Kunqiang barked. Growing up poor, the thing he hated most was the mocking smiles of others. His face twisted with rage.

“Don’t you know? Does your boss know where you spent last night?” Ye Feng chuckled softly. Huaihuai had just scanned Zhang Kunqiang’s memories and found something amusing.

Zhang Kunqiang was stunned, his eyes wide with disbelief and his hand trembling. But soon his face contorted with murderous intent. Ye Feng could feel the killing aura radiating from him.

“Planning to kill me to silence me?” Ye Feng shrugged, his tone still disdainful. “Do you really think killing me will solve your problems? I’m not the only one who knows your secrets. Even if you kill me now, you’re doomed!”

At this, Zhang Kunqiang didn’t dare act recklessly anymore. His tone softened, and he asked quietly, “How do you know?”

“If you don’t want others to know, don’t do it yourself,” Ye Feng replied cryptically, keeping his cards close to his chest. Truth was, he couldn’t possibly reveal that he had an AI from the future capable of scanning memories.

After a moment’s thought, Zhang Kunqiang countered, “Who are you, really? What do you want?”

“I’m just an ordinary student. As for what I want—how about you pay me fifty million to keep quiet?” Ye Feng’s demand nearly drove Zhang Kunqiang mad. There was no way he could afford that.

“Bastard!” Zhang Kunqiang swung up his pistol, turned to one of his men, and fired—bang!

At the sound of the shot, the man collapsed in a pool of blood, a dark hole in his forehead oozing blood and smoke. Clearly, he was already dead.

Chaos erupted instantly. These people had seen plenty of gunfights in movies, but nothing prepared them for the real thing, with blood spraying everywhere. Many screamed and ran, but Zhang Kunqiang’s men weren’t about to let anyone leave.

“Lock the doors! We’re closed,” Zhang Kunqiang barked, and the doors of Shatter Paradise slowly swung shut.

“Kid, my boss is already dead. What are you going to threaten me with?” Zhang Kunqiang turned, arrogance written all over his face. “Are you going to tell that dead man I slept with his wife?”

Ye Feng was about to ask if he wasn’t afraid, when Huaihuai informed him that the man lying on the ground was indeed his boss, Han Han, who rarely came to such clubs. Tonight, Zhang Kunqiang had specifically invited him, planning to kill him and seize power.

Now Ye Feng understood. Tonight, Shatter Paradise was the stage for Zhang Kunqiang’s coup—no wonder he’d brought a gun to the show.

“Aren’t you afraid the police will come for you?” Ye Feng asked, truly puzzled. He couldn’t fathom how Zhang Kunqiang dared commit murder in public. The country wasn’t so lawless yet, and besides, he couldn’t control the situation. With Han Han dead, the Shark Gang would descend into chaos, and the Xiao Gang would surely swoop in.

“Who knows I killed anyone? Everyone here is on my side.” Zhang Kunqiang shrugged, utterly unconcerned. “You? You’re about to die—what do I care?”

Ye Feng was delighted. Previously, he hadn’t been certain about Xu Wen taking Wang Datong’s position, but now, with this turn of events, success was almost assured.

Still, Han Han’s death seemed absurd. How could a boss not bring any of his own men? Or was it that he trusted Zhang Kunqiang too much? Either way, Ye Feng decided to test his luck.

He called out experimentally, “Any of the boss’s brothers here? Step forward and show this traitor how many people know his secrets!”

As soon as he spoke, all the waiters—who had been carrying trays—suddenly drew pistols, aiming fifteen guns directly at Zhang Kunqiang. Quite a number indeed.

Seeing this, Zhang Kunqiang panicked. He had planned tonight’s events meticulously, but never expected things to turn out this way.

“You think you killed Han Han? The man you shot wasn’t Han Han at all—it was his younger brother, Han Xin, who’s been living in the countryside,” Ye Feng declared menacingly.

His words were full of flaws—anyone who knew Han Xin would know he was an only child. But Zhang Kunqiang, in his panic, couldn’t think straight. The moment he heard Han Xin wasn’t dead, he began to tremble. Having served Han Xin for so long, he was well aware of the man’s methods. After shaking for a while, his face twisted in despair, then suddenly flashed with murderous intent. He roared at Ye Feng, “If I’m going to die, I’m taking you with me!”

With that, he pulled the trigger—but at the very instant the gun fired, Zhang Kunqiang realized Ye Feng was no longer in his line of fire.

In that split second, Ye Feng was already beside him. With a swift knife-hand strike, Zhang Kunqiang dropped his gun, clutching his wrist and howling in pain like a wounded animal.
