63. Amy Gets Into Trouble
Ye Feng couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief—thank goodness for Huaihuai's timely warning, or he truly would have regretted it for the rest of his life. His hatred for these thugs deepened even further.
At that moment, Ye Feng sensed someone attacking from behind. Instinctively, he swung his arm backward. He was keenly aware of his own strength now, so he deliberately restrained himself, but even with that restraint, his slap sent the blond thug reeling, his eyes rolling back as he spun twice before collapsing to the floor.
With the blond thug down, no one blocked Ye Feng's path anymore. His concern now was for Amy's wellbeing. Despite Huaihuai's casual tone, Ye Feng remained anxious.
But it was clear the remaining punks had no intention of letting Ye Feng pass so easily. With the blond knocked down, they all lunged at him, evidently ready to fight to the bitter end.
Seeing this, Ye Feng let out a cold laugh. His fists landed with resounding force, and within moments, the entire group was sprawled across the floor, groaning in agony.
Ye Feng's display left the three trailing behind him in awe, especially Qin Qiong, who had grown up in the military compound. Even there, Ye Feng would be considered a formidable fighter. No one could fathom how he had trained.
Inside the room, the deafening, frenzied music continued to blare. The brief fight had not affected the gyrating crowd at all. The boys and girls high on drugs kept dancing madly, oblivious to the bodies now littering the floor.
However, the three remaining men were clearly tougher than the previous thugs. At least they knew to arm themselves: one pulled out a folding knife and stood at the back, while the other two each grabbed a fruit knife from the table and charged at Ye Feng. The last, unable to find a proper weapon, simply snatched up a beer bottle and rushed forward.
Seeing two of them brandishing weapons, faces twisted with murderous intent, Ye Feng's heart turned cold. He responded with force, delivering two sharp karate chops directly to their weapon-wielding wrists.
With a cry of pain, the weapons clattered to the floor, and the two thugs clutched their wrists, screaming in agony. Ye Feng showed no mercy; after those two fierce strikes, their wrists would never heal—he had shattered the joints completely.
The last thug, witnessing Ye Feng's ruthlessness, was too frightened to advance.
Seeing that he dared not approach, Ye Feng strode quickly to Amy's side and checked her over. Only after confirming she was all right did he finally relax.
He noticed the last thug still standing by the wall, knife in hand, and shot him a murderous glare. Terrified, the thug bolted from the room.
Wu Tian and the other two had merely followed Ye Feng in, doing nothing themselves and were still in shock at his prowess.
"Huaihuai, check on Amy," Ye Feng said.
"Don't worry, it's just some drugs—they'll wear off after a nap," Huaihuai replied, her voice timely and calm.
Ye Feng studied Amy, lying restlessly on the couch, her mind clouded. It was clear she had indeed been drugged.
"Do you know how this happened? Amy doesn’t seem the type to come to a place like this, especially with these kinds of people around," he mused.
He glanced behind him at the crowd still wildly dancing in the center of the large private room. Among the boys and girls, he recognized a couple of faces—they seemed to be Amy's classmates.
From their behavior, Ye Feng deduced that they, too, had likely been drugged with some sort of stimulant or hallucinogen.
With a quiet sigh, Ye Feng pieced together what must have happened: it was probably the beginning of the school year, and everyone wanted to let loose. Amy’s classmates must have invited her to sing karaoke at The Hive, but things had taken a dark turn.
“It’s not as simple as you think,” Huaihuai piped up again.
“You’re eavesdropping on my thoughts again. What else is going on?” Ye Feng was curious—was this all a setup?
Before Huaihuai could answer, a man entered the room—someone Ye Feng loathed.
“Where’s my beauty?” Bai Weiqi announced as he stepped into the private room, his cheeks flushed from drinking.
But the moment he saw Ye Feng, his expression changed. “Why is it you?”
Ye Feng needed no further explanation from Huaihuai; he understood immediately.
It was Bai Weiqi’s scheme all along. Ever since Ye Feng and his friends had humiliated him, Bai Weiqi had been nursing a grudge against the women who had helped Ye Feng. He couldn’t touch Ouyang Lanlan, and Nangong Jing was out of reach for now, but Amy was vulnerable. So he had the blond thug persuade Amy’s classmates to invite her out for karaoke, and then drugged her drink. The rest was all too obvious.
“That’s what I should be asking you! How is it you always stoop to such vile acts? Were you born a beast?” Ye Feng spat, fury in his voice. He despised nothing more than men who took out their anger on women, especially with such contemptible methods.
“Since you walked into my trap today, you’ve only yourself to blame. Get him! Beat him to death and I’ll take responsibility!” Bai Weiqi commanded, his own men and the few remaining thugs in the room closing in around them.
Ye Feng was unafraid; he leapt into action, dispatching his opponents with ease. But Old Third, Huang Luan, suffered for it—he had grown up in comfort, and though he’d been in a few scraps, they were only scuffles among spoiled rich kids, never real fights against professional thugs. Within moments, he had taken several hard blows. As for Wu Tian, the eldest, he had trained with bodyguards since childhood and could at least defend himself. The second, Qin Qiong, needed no mention—growing up in the military compound, fighting came naturally to him.
So, in less than a minute, Bai Weiqi’s hired muscle lay groaning on the floor. Aside from a few bruises on Huang Luan’s back, Ye Feng’s group was unharmed, though Huang Luan’s wails were almost unbearable.
Bai Weiqi was dumbfounded. He had thought Ye Feng would be alone, never expecting him to bring backup. Furious, he shouted, “You bastard, you brought reinforcements? Just you wait! All of you, if you dare mess with me in Haifeng City, you’re not getting out of here alive!”
Had Bai Weiqi been more rational, he would have noticed the expressions of the four men facing him. There was not a trace of fear—only scornful smiles. The way they looked at him was as if he were nothing more than an insect. Was Bai Weiqi really someone they needed to fear?
Before Ye Feng could reply, Wu Tian, the eldest, snorted coldly. “So what if we mess with you? Who do you think you are?”
“Don’t think a bit of fighting skill makes you tough—” Bai Weiqi began, but before he could finish, Qin Qiong, the second, kicked him flying out of the room. The force of the kick was no less than Ye Feng’s earlier one.
“Having fighting skills does make you tougher than you,” Qin Qiong said disdainfully. “If you’ve got the guts, come and fight back!”
