When Jiang Yunzhou woke up, she felt the weight on her body. Reaching out, her hand brushed against a suit jacket.

She immediately sat up, brought the jacket draped over her to her eyes for a look, then hurried to the flower shop entrance and looked around. Still, she did not see the person she wanted to see.

"Was it my imagination?"

Jiang Yunzhou returned to the flower shop, holding the suit jacket in her hands and feeling it carefully. Then she noticed a cufflink pinned to it.

She ran her fingers over the cufflink twice, and her eyes trembled slightly.

She knew this cufflink well. This was a gift she had given to Shen Tingxiao. So... last night, had Shen Tingxiao come back? And... come to see her?

Jiang Yunzhou's hand tightened, a flicker of surprise crossing her face. Then she thought of the engagement news, and the smile on her face vanished.

Since he was back, why didn't he wake her up, and... why didn't he explain anything to her?

Didn't he know she had sent him so many messages?

Didn't he know how worried she had been?

Jiang Yunzhou thought about how he had already returned, yet still refused to give her an explanation — he had only glanced at her briefly and left.

Leaving her here to overthink and imagine all sorts of things.

Jiang Yunzhou felt that Shen Tingxiao's engagement must have some hidden difficulty behind it. But even so, why wouldn't he tell her anything at all?

And why wasn't he by her side when she encountered difficulties?

Jiang Yunzhou was angry — angry that Shen Tingxiao always said such sweet words, yet when she was in trouble, he wasn't there at all.

She took a deep breath, letting out the pent-up frustration in her chest.

Then she glanced at the flower shop and turned to leave.

Back at the company, after a series of targeted attacks, the already strained finances had become even more strained.

Jiang Yunzhou looked at the piles of documents in the office and felt a headache coming on. The matter of Shen Tingxiao visiting her last night was pushed to the back of her mind.

After work, as usual, she went to visit Old Madam Shen. Originally, she planned to stand outside and take a couple of looks before leaving.

But the nurse inside suddenly came out and called her over.

"Miss Jiang, Old Madam Shen would like you to go inside."

Jiang Yunzhou paused. She hadn't expected Granny Shen to have noticed her.

She adjusted her mood, then walked in with a smile on her face.

"Grandma."

Old Madam Shen was leaning against her pillow, a pair of weathered eyes fixed on her.

"If you came, why didn't you come in?"

Jiang Yunzhou was silent for a moment. Old Madam Shen continued, "Are you afraid of me?"

She could hear that Granny Shen's tone seemed a little off, so she quickly said, "No, I just worried that Grandma still didn't want to see me right now, and I was afraid of upsetting you."

Old Madam Shen looked at her expressionlessly and asked, "If you haven't done anything to wrong me, then why are you afraid of upsetting me?"

Jiang Yunzhou fell silent. She thought of the bracelet she had shattered, and her hand hanging by her side slowly brushed over her now-bare wrist, afraid that Old Madam Shen would notice.

"Grandma, I really haven't done anything. Don't overthink it. Last time you were so upset, I've never stopped feeling guilty about it, which is why I didn't dare appear in front of you."

Old Madam Shen let out a sigh. "What happened with Ruizhang last time wasn't your fault. It was my doing. Zhouzhou, don't blame Grandma. At my age, when I saw something happen to him, I lost control for a moment and took my anger out on you."

Jiang Yunzhou smiled and shook her head. "Grandma, I understand. I don't blame you. When Uncle got into trouble, it really was too sudden. I didn't have time to react either."

Old Madam Shen's eyes were full of affection. "I also heard from Ruizhang that you used your own money to settle his accounts for him."

Jiang Yunzhou pulled at the corner of her mouth. "Alright, Grandma, let's not talk about that."

"Fine, fine, fine. Grandma won't speak of it then. In the future, if you run into anything, just tell Shen Ruizhang directly, understand? You're husband and wife now. Helping each other is only natural."

Jiang Yunzhou forced a stiff smile and gave a soft "Mm."

Old Madam Shen spoke again slowly: "Next time you come, just walk right in. I've watched you grow up since you were little. Why would Grandma ever be unwilling to see you?"

After coming out of the ward, Jiang Yunzhou let out a deep breath, and her eyes grew moist.

She wiped them clean, then quickly left the hospital.

As the winter break approached, Jiang Yunzhou made a trip back to school, caught up with her classmates, and finished the last group assignment. By the time all those matters were handled, the school had officially begun its winter vacation.

Apart from what seemed to be an encounter with Shen Tingxiao at the flower shop last time, she still had no news of him this entire period.

Gradually, the resentment toward Shen Tingxiao in Jiang Yunzhou's mind began to fade.

"Come out and grab a meal?"

Shen Ruizhang called and invited Jiang Yunzhou out. Jiang Yunzhou pressed her lips together, not really wanting to see him.

She had already decided in her heart not to get too entangled with Shen Ruizhang, so naturally, she would see him as little as possible.

"No time."

With that, Jiang Yunzhou hung up directly. She sat on the sofa and looked at the scenery outside, then suddenly thought of the views back home.

Now that it was winter break again, she wanted to go back to China for a visit.

The next morning, Jiang Yunzhou packed her things, made sure the company affairs were in order, and went straight to the airport.

She wanted to go back home and rest for a while, to clear her head. Recently, her nerves had been constantly taut — this was the perfect time to let her body and energy fully recover.

Just as Jiang Yunzhou boarded the plane, she didn't notice that not far away, a man in a mask was quietly watching her.

As she held her boarding pass and searched for her seat, a familiar figure suddenly caught the corner of her eye.

Her body stiffened, and she stared at him, dazed.

"Excuse me, could you let me through?"

A person beside her interrupted her thoughts, and she quickly moved out of the way.

"Sorry."

The boarding pass in her hand was crumpled into a ball. Realizing her emotions were getting the better of her, she quickly averted her gaze and continued looking for her seat.

When she realized her seat seemed to be somewhere near where that person was standing, her expression darkened slightly.

Jiang Yunzhou took a deep breath and walked over with a blank face.

"What's wrong, Tingxiao? What are you looking at?"

The woman gently nudged the man beside her and asked in confusion.

Shen Tingxiao withdrew his gaze and said with a light smile, "Nothing."

"Our seats are up ahead. Let's go."

"Mm."

Jiang Yunzhou walked past Shen Tingxiao expressionlessly, without giving him a single glance.

Shen Tingxiao suddenly stopped in his tracks and turned his head to look at Jiang Yunzhou's retreating figure.

The woman beside him was startled by his movement.

She followed his gaze.

Her brow furrowed slightly. "Do you know someone you've met?"

Shen Tingxiao's hand tightened. "No, she just seemed a little familiar. But I think I mistook her."

Jiang Yunzhou's heart raced, whether from nervousness or something else, she didn't know.

After she sat down in her seat, her gaze slowly drifted toward Shen Tingxiao's direction from the corner of her eye.

The woman beside Shen Tingxiao had her arm linked with his, looking very close and intimate.
