“Congratulations to both of you for winning the Finals MVP! Now, please share your thoughts—Harris, you go first.”
The host handed the microphone to Harris.
“It’s a wonderful night, and it’s an honor to receive this trophy. I want to thank my team, our fans who support us, and my family. Thank you all, I love you! Next year, I hope I can stand here again!”
Harris delivered a brief speech in English.
The crowd responded with enthusiastic applause. Next, it was Lin Feng’s turn.
“To be honest, I never expected the judges would give the MVP to me. Everyone knows I only played three games!” Lin Feng shrugged self-deprecatingly and continued, “But I must say, judges, you really have an eye for talent…”
“Ha-ha, thank you for giving me this MVP. I’ll use my performance next season to prove your choice was absolutely right!”
“Also, I want to thank Coach Shen for his trust and patience! And I must thank my father, who taught me to play basketball. Now, standing here, I can proudly say to him, Dad, your son didn’t let you down—we’re champions, and I’ve won the title!”
Lin Feng raised the trophy high, a confident smile spreading across his face.

Heat Bar.
Watching his son on TV, Lin Changdong’s eyes brimmed with tears. The dream he had chased for half a lifetime, his son had achieved it for him...

The award ceremony ended.
The entire Jiangning team returned to the locker room.
Inside, Lin Feng was interviewed by Meng Tong, and he shared all his experiences and clues he had gathered. Which parts could be broadcast and which couldn’t wasn’t for Lin Feng to worry about.
After changing clothes, the Jiangning team prepared to take the bus back to the hotel to continue celebrating.
At that moment, Lin Feng received a call from Li Xueming, who had come to pick up his motorcycle and, incidentally, brought Qin Ruolin’s car.
Lin Feng greeted Coach Shen then rushed outside the stadium.
From a distance, Lin Feng saw Li Xueming waiting at the stadium entrance and hurried over.
“Officer Li, I’m really sorry to trouble you like this!” Lin Feng warmly clasped Li Xueming’s hand in thanks.
“It’s nothing. I’m glad you made it to the game!” Li Xueming smiled. “I heard you won the championship—congratulations! Unfortunately, I was busy handling an accident onsite and missed the live broadcast.”
“Next season, I’ll send you a set of Jiangning season tickets. When you’re free, come watch in person,” Lin Feng said.
“That’s great, I’ll hold you to it!” Li Xueming laughed.
Lin Feng nodded. “Don’t worry, you’ll get the tickets. Even if I don’t send them, the club will. We owe a lot to you for this championship. If you hadn’t lent me the motorcycle, I wouldn’t have made it to the game!”
“So, I’m the real hero of your championship, huh?” Li Xueming joked.
“Absolutely!” Lin Feng grinned.

Li Xueming waved a hand. “Alright, enough joking. Here’s Miss Qin’s car key—I parked her car in the lot out front.”
He took Qin Ruolin’s car key from his bag and handed it to Lin Feng.
“I’ll pass it on to her shortly.” Lin Feng took the key and returned the motorcycle key to Li Xueming as well.
“By the way, Officer Li, Beicheng is over two hundred kilometers from Yanjing. Won’t riding the motorcycle back be rough?” Lin Feng asked with concern.
“I’m not that foolish! Don’t worry, it’s all arranged. A colleague handling road assistance here will take the motorcycle back,” Li Xueming replied.
“That’s good.” Lin Feng nodded, then asked, “Any progress on the car accident investigation?”
“I was just about to tell you. The accident was indeed intentional—the guy confessed, said someone ordered him to do it. But he won’t reveal who gave the orders. He’s been taken to the police station, so I don’t know the details.”
“From what I heard, the charge is severe—endangering public safety. If proven, he’ll get a few years.”
“He deserves it!” Lin Feng snorted.
“Exactly. That accident shut down the whole Yanbei line for nearly two and a half hours—a huge loss!” Li Xueming shook his head. “I have to go, need to head back to Yanjing.”
“Alright, goodbye!”
Lin Feng said farewell, then called Qin Ruolin and told her to come to the stadium entrance for her car key.
Soon, Qin Ruolin arrived.
“Here’s your car key,” Lin Feng handed it to her, ready to leave.
“Wait, leaving so soon?” Qin Ruolin took the key and shot Lin Feng a glance.
“I have to go back to the hotel for the celebration dinner,” Lin Feng explained.
“Come with me, I’m going too,” Qin Ruolin said.
“You’re joining the dinner?” Lin Feng looked puzzled.
Qin Ruolin pouted. “Why shouldn’t I? First, I’m a diamond member of Jiangning Jaguars, and a VIP season ticket holder. I’m fully qualified to attend any Jiangning celebration dinner. Besides, the club invited my father to the dinner, and he said I must accompany him. If I don’t go, he won’t either. So, what do you think?”
“Then you have to go!” Lin Feng nodded quickly.
“Right? So just come with me.” Qin Ruolin shrugged proudly.
“Alright!” Lin Feng flashed a toothy smile and walked with Qin Ruolin toward the parking lot.
It was the time when fans were leaving after the award ceremony, so the parking lot was crowded. Lin Feng and Qin Ruolin walking together drew a lot of attention, and soon the fans recognized them.
If they were Jiangning fans, it wouldn’t matter. But it happened to be a large group of Beicheng fans.
Lin Feng had taken their championship, so seeing him, the Beicheng fans didn’t hold back.

“Lin Feng, bastard!”
“Lin Feng, idiot!”
“Lin Feng, bastard!”
“Lin Feng, idiot!”

Hearing the insults, Lin Feng frowned but ignored them. As a professional player, being cursed by the opposing fans was nothing new.
Back in college games, when playing away, he and his family would be greeted with all sorts of insults, and there was nothing he could do—he couldn’t shout back or get into fights.
Over time, Lin Feng learned to tune out the abuse.
Tonight was no different.
“Just ignore them, let’s go,” Qin Ruolin whispered.
They quickened their pace and soon reached Qin Ruolin’s car.
But the group of Beicheng fans followed, hurling insults. Initially, they targeted Lin Feng, but soon included Qin Ruolin.
“Qin Ruolin, filthy slut!”
“Qin Ruolin, whore singer!”
“Qin Ruolin, five hundred for a night!”

The insults grew nastier. Qin Ruolin was seething, but as a public figure, she couldn’t vent her anger. Lin Feng, however, was furious first. He stopped, pointed at the Beicheng fans and shouted, “Insult me all you like—I can take it! But insulting a woman? That’s pathetic! If you’ve got guts, come at me!”
“I’ll curse whoever I damn well please, what are you gonna do?”
“Qin Ruolin, filthy slut! Qin Ruolin, whore, Qin Ruolin, idiot!” a chubby fan shouted, ignoring Lin Feng.
“Shut the hell up! Enough already!” Lin Feng yelled at him.
“Who are you trying to scare? Just because you hit a few three-pointers, you think you’re something?” The fat fan sneered and threw half a cup of bubble tea at Lin Feng.
Lin Feng hadn’t expected the sudden attack, and the tea hit him squarely, soaking a large patch of his clothes.
