Chapter 50: Black Dragon Wave
"Secret Art: Infernal King Flame Slaying Black Dragon Wave!"
"Roar!!!!"
Traton Viller heard a thunderous roar, and saw a colossal black dragon of fire detach from Han Feng's arm. The dragon let out a series of howls, twisting and spiraling as it lunged toward him!
The black dragon first met the stone spear. With its massive jaws, it swallowed the spear whole; the moment the spear entered its maw, it was instantly incinerated into black ashes by the searing infernal flames.
Traton Viller felt a tremendous threat—a threat of death. He tried to dodge, but his heavy body became a burden. He knew he could not escape.
Suddenly, Traton Viller erupted with a fierce will to live. At the cost of overdrawing his life force, he desperately stimulated his cells' vitality. Spiritual energy surged within him, and the rocky armor covering his body creaked, growing thicker and harder.
If Traton Viller was once like a humanoid tank, now he had become a fortress, layers of heavy stone armor shielding his true form deep within.
Boom!
The black dragon crashed furiously into the humanoid fortress! Its infernal flames battered the armor, the terrifying heat instantly melting the outer layers.
The flames kept pounding, melting armor layer by layer. Traton Viller poured out spiritual energy madly; as the fire melted one layer, a new layer formed. Blood seeped from his mouth and nose, blisters covered his scorched body, and his spiritual energy was long depleted—he was burning his life force to replenish it.
Ordinarily, no one would willingly overdraw their life force, for it meant consuming their own lifespan and potential ahead of time. But faced with death, what did it matter?
"Ah!!!" Traton Viller bellowed in the black flames, "Your fire cannot harm me! I will tear you to pieces!"
His rocky armor dissolved rapidly; even with his life force drained, he could not sustain the speed of consumption. Black ashes piled around him.
"Ah!! I...won't...submit..." Traton Viller's voice faded. The terrifying black dragon devoured him entirely, his body vaporized into nothingness, leaving only a field of black ash to mark his existence.
The black dragon swept through his body. Over a dozen pirates and three unlucky hunter warriors, unable to escape, vanished without so much as a scream.
The high-strength alloy walls melted into pools of liquid metal. Everything in its path, whether man or object, was reduced to ash.
The black dragon rampaged for seventy to eighty meters before it finally faded, having even melted through the central control room's wall. Those inside stared in horror at the gaping hole.
Where the dragon passed, parts of the metal floor had liquefied, and that was without direct contact.
Han Feng panted heavily. That blast of the Flame Slaying Black Dragon Wave had nearly drained his spiritual energy, leaving less than 5%. Even he had not expected the dragon wave's destructive force to be so immense.
Both pirates and hunter warriors stared blankly at the devastation left in the dragon's wake. Some pirates collapsed in terror, a damp patch spreading beneath them.
"This..." Mitchel Fran and the other hunter warriors looked at Han Feng, still shaken. Mitchel Fran and Jordan Piris felt a chill—thank goodness they hadn't provoked Han Feng too far earlier, or their whole team would have been wiped out. If he unleashed that attack on them...they dared not imagine it.
Tifa gazed at Han Feng. If her previous loyalty was absolute, now it was tinged with admiration.
Han Feng pulled out another vial, this time a mana restoration potion. Drinking it would recover 30% of his spiritual energy in one minute—a prize drawn from the lottery. He drank it down, and his nearly dry spiritual energy quickly recovered.
He glanced at the surviving pirates: four D-class martial artists and over twenty ordinary pirates.
The hunters' situation was dire; all the gunners were dead, only thirteen ordinary hunter warriors remained, and all were wounded. The enemy had always outnumbered them by three or four times, so reaching this point was due to good tactics.
Han Feng looked at the four pirate martial artists. They exchanged glances, and the warhammer martial artist suddenly spoke, "Let us go, or none of you will leave alive."
Han Feng fixed his sharp gaze on the warhammer martial artist, making his scalp tingle.
"You don't have much spiritual energy left. That terrifying skill can't be used again so soon. Everyone's wounded—if this fight goes on, who knows how many will die. It's bad for us all," the warhammer martial artist said, trying to sound tough.
"Oh? You think you can escape?" Han Feng found it amusing.
"We're all spent. If it comes to it, we'll go down fighting!" the warhammer martial artist gritted his teeth and spat blood. Earlier, he had been struck from behind by Tifa during his battle with Jordan Piris, injuring his internal organs.
"Shave!"
Han Feng's figure vanished from sight, reappearing behind the warhammer martial artist. His longsword pierced through the man's chest from behind.
The sword was withdrawn, and the warhammer martial artist fell to the ground, eyes wide.
"Go down fighting? Where did you get such confidence?" Han Feng's spiritual energy was low, but he still had plenty of stamina.
He had no intention of sparing them. Letting them go would only invite more enemies. An enemy is an enemy; it's either you die or I live, especially when it comes to pirates devoid of all morals and conscience.
No one questioned Han Feng's decision. The hunter warriors had dealt with pirates enough to know that evil must be eradicated.
The battle erupted anew, but with Han Feng joining in, it became a one-sided slaughter. All that talking had simply been a delay, as he waited for his spiritual energy to recover. The hunters were all wounded, their fighting strength barely a tenth of what it had been. He had to preserve as many of them as possible.
"Funeral of Flying Petals!" Han Feng flexibly manipulated his abilities. In his previous life, he was renowned in games for his versatile skills, developing myriad ways to use his lightning powers. Now, with his mental constraints lifted, he wielded the infernal flames of the underworld with increasing mastery.
Han Feng spread his arms. Countless black petals appeared around him, each radiating immense heat—petals formed from black flames, densely packed, numbering in the hundreds.
With a sweep of his arms, the black flame petals danced through the air.
The pirate underlings, who had already lost their will to fight after witnessing the black dragon's rampage, looked upon the petals with despair. In the blink of an eye, they were engulfed, leaving only charred remains.
The three remaining pirate martial artists struggled to hold on with spiritual energy, their eyes filled only with terror.
"Infernal King Flame Slaying Sword: Single Stroke!"
A wave of black flame sword energy swept through, and not a single enemy was left alive in the hull.
