Chapter 40: Troublemakers Arrive
At this moment, within Gravity Training Area No. 1, Han Feng was already adapting swiftly to tenfold gravity. The blade of Gray Seal: Dawn of Destruction danced fiercely in his hands. He practiced no fancy sword techniques, nor did he follow any martial arts routines—his actions were the most basic sword swings. A strong foundation is the root of all martial pursuits; without it, the earth itself would shake.
Under the pressure of tenfold gravity, every swing of his sword was a struggle. Sweat soaked his hair, which clung to his cheeks, and the countless scars crisscrossing his bare torso highlighted the beautiful lines of his muscles. He did not possess the bulky, intimidating muscles of a bodybuilder, but each fiber brimmed with explosive power and aesthetic grace.
Tifa’s strength attribute was 880, her constitution 800—she was only level ten. As her level increased, her attributes would rise, but for now, she was merely equal to a standard D-class martial artist and could only withstand four to five times gravity in training.
In contrast, Han Feng’s strength attribute reached 2795, and his constitution 2343, more than double Tifa’s. Such exaggerated physical attributes were typically seen only in C-class martial artists; among D-class superhumans, Han Feng was unique.
Each time a superhuman advanced, their bodies underwent deep reinforcement, with their attributes leaping dramatically—a qualitative change born of steady accumulation. For this reason, lower-tier superhumans rarely challenged those of higher tiers, an accepted truth born of the overwhelming suppression of attributes since the emergence of superhumans.
Yet, this consensus was destined to be broken in the years to come.

[Intermediate Swordsmanship Proficiency +1]
[Intermediate Martial Arts Proficiency +1]
…
[Strength +3]
[Constitution +2]
Training was monotonous yet fulfilling. After three hours of tenfold gravity training, Han Feng’s intermediate swordsmanship proficiency increased by 121 points, intermediate martial arts proficiency by 59 points, strength by 3, and constitution by 2.
Effort always yielded reward. Once training was over, Han Feng and Tifa returned to their respective quarters, enjoying a long, hot shower to wash away the sweat. With over ten hours left before the next jump, they could finally rest.
Lying in bed, Han Feng pondered his next steps. He realized he needed a good gun, recalling that in the “Scarlet Secret War” mission, there were two troublesome opponents specializing in long-range sniper tactics—slippery as eels. If those two managed to keep their distance, it would be a headache.
Lost in thought, Han Feng soon drifted into a deep sleep.
He didn’t know how long he slept before he was awakened by urgent knocking. Glancing at the time, there were five hours left until the next jump.
He threw on his jacket and opened the door to find ten members of the Violent Bear Hunters, with Mitchell Fran among them.
“We’re searching the room,” Mitchell Fran announced curtly, stepping forward.
Han Feng raised his arm to block the doorway, his narrow phoenix eyes fixed coldly on Mitchell Fran. “Reason?”
“Our team’s stored crystal card has gone missing—almost fifty million star coins are gone. We suspect you two stole it,” Mitchell Fran sneered.
“You must be mistaken. We’ve never even seen a crystal card,” Tifa interjected, stepping from behind Han Feng. Their rooms were connected by an internal passage, and with both doors unlocked, Tifa could enter Han Feng’s room at any time.
Seeing Tifa emerge from Han Feng’s room, Mitchell Fran’s anger only deepened. “Everyone else on this ship is an old acquaintance. We’ve worked with them more than once, and we know each other well. Only you two are new faces. To steal a crystal card under our heavy protection, you’d have to be at least D-class superhumans—and besides us, only you two fit that description. So naturally, you’re the prime suspects.”
“We have nothing to do with your missing property,” Han Feng replied coldly.
“We won’t know for sure until we search,” Mitchell Fran said, pounding his fist into his palm.
“And if I say no?” Han Feng smirked inwardly, leaning against the doorframe.
“Then you’re hiding something. Don’t blame us for using force!” With a wave, Mitchell Fran’s men raised their guns.
“Oh? So you plan to start a fight here?” Han Feng had already seen through their ruse—there was no missing crystal card, nor fifty million star coins. These men were simply here to cause trouble.
“Wanna fight? I’m game!” Tifa was furious, slipping on her Blazing Gauntlets, which radiated a dangerous aura in red and black.
“The card isn’t here, and we won’t let you search. If you’re here to pick a fight, just name the terms—we’ll accept!” Han Feng’s gaze sharpened.
“Fine, we’ll fight. If you win, we’ll believe you didn’t steal it. But if you lose…” Mitchell Fran glanced at Tifa, “We’ll have to interrogate you properly.”
“Very well, but we have conditions too. If we win, you’ll compensate us for reputation damage and emotional distress—twenty million star coins. If we lose, you’re free to deal with us as you wish,” Han Feng’s lips curled into a relaxed smile as he looked at Mitchell Fran. “Well? Do you dare?”
“Agreed!” Mitchell Fran replied confidently. He had no doubt he would win—his lost pride had to be restored.
“Good. Let’s go to the combat simulation room. No need to break the furniture here—we’d have to pay for damages,” Han Feng said, leading the way.
Tifa nearly burst out laughing at Han Feng’s words. With so many guns pointed at them, shouldn’t safety come first? Yet he worried about paying for broken furniture. Han Feng’s offhand remark instantly calmed her nerves.
Crowds of ship crew had already gathered to watch the commotion. With Mitchell Fran’s group making such a spectacle, it was impossible not to notice. Captain Sun Fei was already nearby, quietly observing. She knew Mitchell Fran was arrogant but not foolish; he wouldn’t go too far on her ship. It was also a chance to see just how strong Han Feng and Tifa really were.
