"The Thunder Dragon's Roar!"

Wild electric energy gathered in his mouth, and in the next instant, a golden beam of lightning burst forth with a vengeance!

The savage shockwave was like the breath of a colossal dragon descending from the heavens, streaking across the sky with the roar of the Thunder Dragon, and in a flash, it crashed into the back of Famiel!

A long, semi-circular indentation was left on the ground, scorched and blackened within. Struck in the back by the electric shockwave, not even his psychic shield could keep Famiel's body from shaking like a leaf. His health plummeted dramatically—by a full third.

Paralyzed by the power of the lightning, he was left unable to move, gravely wounded.

Thanks to the card system, Han Feng's psychic energy far exceeded that of an average D-rank superhuman; such a fierce energy attack consumed only a fifth of his reserves.

Seeing the attack succeed, Han Feng, ever a proponent of using full strength even against the weakest foe and finishing off a wounded enemy without mercy, unleashed his full firepower!

"Limit Release!"

"Burning Will!"

"Demon King's Flameblade: Soaring Dragon Flash!"

Han Feng's figure flickered past, the black swordlight soaring across the heavens like a dragon!

Famiel's terrified expression froze on his face. Paralyzed by lightning and without even a chance to transform into a bat and flee, the flaming longsword cleaved his body from behind. He could utter not a single word more before the pitch-black demonic flames reduced him to ashes, drifting away on the wind.

"Deadly Strike" passively increased his physical critical chance by 5%. "Lethal Backstab" granted another 10% when attacking from behind. With "Limit Release" activated, the critical rate and attack power jumped by another 20%. Stacking up to a 35% critical rate, the strike was guaranteed to succeed. With the attack bonus, the Demon King’s Flameblade and Soaring Dragon Flash combined for a devastating 200% critical damage blow.

Even more terrifying, his exclusive skill "Burning Will" gave his next attack a 30% chance to deal true damage—and it triggered successfully!

So poor Famiel took a full-force, defense-ignoring critical hit head-on. His health was wiped out in an instant—dead beyond any hope of return.

"Damn, I might have overdone it…" Distracted by the thrill of his new abilities, Han Feng realized he’d forgotten to leave a survivor.

Famiel’s powers were completely suppressed by Han Feng, and while the Bloodkin were formidable in their own right, they simply posed no real threat to him.

The entire fight had been easy from beginning to end. Han Feng's main goal was to test his newly acquired abilities in real combat. He hadn't expected the combination of his card powers and martial skills to be so overwhelming—it ended up costing his opponent his life.

He glanced at the system panel. Two of the four objectives for the "Sari Settlement Tragedy" mission had been completed; he could settle the task now, but the goals of "Finding the Missing Squad" and "Rescuing the Missing Squad" were still marked as "In Progress."

He’d gotten carried away and accidentally killed the enemy outright—now where was he supposed to find anyone?

Han Feng felt a twinge of frustration. What now—just wander around and hope for luck?

Handsome as he might be, luck wasn’t something that correlated with looks. Time to use his brain instead.

The Bloodkin detested sunlight. Though it no longer harmed them, they still avoided it, choosing to dwell in places it couldn’t reach.

If the missing squad was still alive after being captured, they would most likely be held at Famiel's temporary base.

Furthermore, the Bloodkin’s innate love for beauty and luxurious, aristocratic lifestyles meant that this disruptive noble would naturally lay claim to the finest house in the settlement after converting all its residents into blood thralls.

Before coming, Han Feng had reviewed the basic information about the Sari settlement. It wasn’t wealthy, but it did have a local tycoon, a man with the resounding name of Wang Fugui.

Yes, there had once been a village where everyone was called Wang Fugui, but this wasn’t that place.

There was only one Wang Fugui in this settlement, making his house easy to find.

Han Feng ignored the chaos around him, crossed the long street, and headed straight for a lavishly built villa. In the yard was even a small swimming pool—entirely out of place among the modest houses nearby, standing out like a crane among chickens.

Striding through the doorway, he searched the villa and finally found a hidden compartment in a storeroom on the first floor. Opening it revealed a staircase leading underground.

Dim lamps hung along the passage, barely illuminating the way.

Around a bend, a metal door appeared. Han Feng sliced it in half with his longsword, revealing a cramped cell inside.

Within the tiny cell, five people—four men and one woman—were shackled to the wall with mechanical locks, their faces pale. Needles were stuck in their arms, connected to thin tubes through which their blood slowly trickled into storage bags at the far end.

They were being bled. For what reason? One only had to recall the red beverage Famiel had enjoyed.

It was obvious they had been locked up here by Baron Famiel as a backup food supply.

Most of the group was unconscious, having been bled for so long that it was hard to stay awake.

At the sound of an intruder, a young man stirred and feebly raised his head.

Seeing someone awake, Han Feng asked, "Who are you? Are you the government’s special task force?"

"Yes, I’m a member of the Azure Dragon Special Task Squad. My name is Ding Liu," the young man replied weakly, his voice hoarse. "You need to get out of here, now! There’s a Bloodkin baron here—his illusion power is extremely dangerous. Run!"

"Don’t worry, I’ve already taken care of him. I’m here to rescue you," Han Feng replied with a reassuring smile. His first impression of Ding Liu was positive—the man’s first instinct was not to ask for help, but to urge Han Feng to flee from danger.

As he spoke, Han Feng pulled the needles from their arms and destroyed the mechanical locks. The group collapsed to the floor, but soon began to stir and wake.

Ding Liu looked at Han Feng with gratitude, struggling to believe. "The Bloodkin baron is dead?"

"Yes. How did you end up captured?" Han Feng asked.

"A vicious incident occurred in the Sari settlement. The local security forces couldn’t handle it, so they reported up the chain. We thought it was just a routine attack on civilians, so the higher-ups sent three of us to investigate. We’re all E-rank superhumans. We had no idea we’d fall into the enemy’s illusion without realizing it. We fought a tough battle in that dreamscape, but in the end, we were exhausted and captured," Ding Liu explained helplessly, nodding toward a man and woman on his left, then gesturing to the two on the right. "These two are passersby who stumbled in and got caught as well. Thank you for saving us!"

The other four echoed their thanks.

"No need to thank me. I’m a bounty hunter commissioned for this mission—I’m just doing my job. Is there anyone else alive?" Han Feng waved dismissively.

"There shouldn’t be. The others have either been turned into blood thralls or drained dry," Ding Liu replied grimly. "If you hadn’t dealt with that Bloodkin, who knows how many more would have suffered."

"Can you walk? I’ll get you out of here," Han Feng said with a smile.
