Volume One (Primeval Times)
Great ambitions unfulfilled, a life ends before its time,
Transmigrated to another world, ensnared by fated ties.
Since ancient days, deep affection leads only to sorrow,
The world is fickle—what lament for beauty remains.

The end descends, chaos engulfs the land,
By chance, kindred souls seek the source together.
Destiny’s hand weaves unseen threads,
Slaying demons, monsters, and immortals alike.

To save his beloved, he braves all dangers.
Enduring a thousand trials and hardships alone,
He vows never to return without his goal achieved.

An ancient legend comes true at last.

This set of seven quatrains offers little in the way of spoilers. As you read on, you will come to understand the tangled web of gratitude and resentment, love and hatred, that weaves through this tale. Witness how an ordinary man shoulders the burden of a world-shattering catastrophe, and how he must choose—ascend to immortality? Retire in obscurity? When the winds of fate arrive, a dragon is born from the clouds.

The ancient thousand-year tree demon bewilders mortal hearts,
A formation traps me within its bounds.
Stones shatter, earth trembles, heaven and earth quake,
The mysterious arts of the Three Pure Ones steady the universe.
With strength to shake mountains and rivers, his deeds surpass the ages,
Yet a thousand years of cultivation can be ruined in a single day.
Should the Demon God return one day,
Primeval times will be stained with blood in defiance of the heavens.

Li Yunfei, a humble detective, accidentally kills a man and dies in the process, only to find himself reborn in the Divine-Demon Continent, a world beyond his own, where he discovers he possesses extraordinary skills. The seal on the Demon God is about to break, and ferocious monsters are on the attack. He finds a master and undergoes grueling training, growing ever stronger. He obtains a divine tome, suffers betrayal, slays magical beasts, and endures endless trials!

Returning to the modern world, he is drawn into drug trafficking, escapes prison, and rises to become a gang leader! With corpse poison spreading and zombies constantly evolving, a biochemical crisis looms. He leaps to the Immortal Platform to evade heavenly tribulation, survives the border between life and death, turns misfortune into blessing, and wherever he encounters demons or beasts, he confronts and slays them fearlessly, battling fate itself!

In a world where monsters roam and zombies run rampant, he traverses the cosmos and turns back the rivers of stars!

Story Analysis:
A thousand years ago, Yuan Kun, the peerless master of the Edge of Heaven, perished in a tragic accident. His demonic avatar, the Demon God, fell with him, and the Edge of Heaven vanished from the world. A millennium later, Yuan Kun's true reincarnation, Li Yunfei, by a twist of fate, returns to the Primeval Era, where all mysteries will be unraveled.

Betrayed by his girlfriend, Li Yunfei kills in a fit of rage, only to die alongside his rival. In the Primeval world, he meets Xu Qinghuan, a woman strikingly similar to his former love. He hopes to live out his days with this "shadow," but fate is unpredictable. From the moment he chose the path of cultivation, he was doomed to a lonely destiny—marked by solitude! On one hand, he must uncover the secrets of his past life; on another, he must seek the fabled Seven Stars to revive his beloved; and on yet another, he must find a way to return to the twenty-first century. Whether he will succeed, the story will reveal.

I dare not claim my writing is the best, but I promise the content is never dull, the plot twists are unexpected, and the story’s rhythm is sure. I trust discerning readers will see the quality for themselves! You are warmly invited to enjoy this work!

The first volume serves as a foundation, rife with foreshadowing; the story only grows more thrilling. Written in the first person, the “I” in the narrative is the protagonist, Li Yunfei. In the tradition of works like "Grave Robbers’ Chronicles" and "Ghost Blows Out the Light," the story unfolds wherever the protagonist goes.

There is no rigid power-up system, no ultimate artifacts—only the protagonist’s indomitable will. To save countless lives across the three realms, he will face innumerable hardships. Whether he can defy fate, challenge the laws of the world—only time will tell.

Theme Song: "Empty Longing"
Lyrics by Wandering Sword—Old Li

Alone, I ride with sword across the land,
Through endless nights,
I play a solitary tune to the crashing waves upon the shore.
So-called grudges of the martial world,
Now, I am long freed from all attachments.
Yet I wonder, in the distant horizon,
Is she still waiting there for me?
The persistent drizzle is like my present sorrow,
Falling relentlessly, refusing to cease.
Again and again I tell myself to let go,
But as I wander the world,
Love and hate must be left to fate.
My sword’s path grows ever more distant,
Leaving behind only a heart full of empty longing.

Alone, I roam the boundless world.
