...
The world of Pokémon!
Hoenn League!
Littleroot Town!
A place known as the town untouched by any color! It is also the hometown of the main characters in the Pokémon games Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, and later versions like the Phantom of Darkness.
But for Zhang Feng, this is the beginning of a completely new adventure!
As someone originally from Earth, who is passionate about the Pokémon series and has delved into the anime, games, and manga, just a few days ago he was striving to complete Phantom of Darkness in Emerald!
Little did Zhang Feng know that after finally clearing the game, he would be transported to the Pokémon world, becoming an orphan in Littleroot Town, Hoenn!
Well, since he’s here, he might as well settle in!
Looking at the mirror now, his body is still that of an eighteen-year-old youth, his own, and Zhang Feng couldn’t help but feel joyous!
Before crossing over, he had already been a man in his thirties, a typical office worker with average physical health, plagued by minor ailments.
Now, the power of transmigration had restored him to his eighteen-year-old self, in the prime of youth, brimming with energy—this was a huge gain!
Not to mention, he had arrived in the world he loved most—the world of Pokémon!
His physical condition was at its peak, his lifespan extended, and he had another chance at life, all in the Pokémon world. Zhang Feng felt fully satisfied!
Of course, since he had crossed over, he certainly hoped to encounter his favorite Pokémon, embark on the journey as a trainer, challenge gyms and the league, and strive to become the strongest trainer!
Just like Ash!
But there was a problem: Zhang Feng had no starter Pokémon.
Although Professor Birch lived in Littleroot Town and was responsible for distributing the Hoenn starters—Torchic, Treecko, and Mudkip—Zhang Feng, as an orphan with no financial means, had not set out on his journey even at eighteen. He stayed in town, helping the locals in exchange for goods or small change to get by.

From childhood, if not for the kindness of Littleroot Town’s residents, Zhang Feng would never have survived to this age.
Moreover, the latest batch of trainers had already received their starters. Even if Zhang Feng wished to travel, Professor Birch probably had no Pokémon left for him.
“Ah, this is troublesome,” he sighed, surveying his humble home. The situation was bleak—no starter, no money!
Even with transmigration, without a starter Pokémon, Zhang Feng couldn’t leave Littleroot Town for other cities.
The reason was simple: without a Pokémon companion, encountering wild Pokémon in the wilderness would be dangerous. With only a human body, he couldn’t fight wild Pokémon.
One wrong move, and he might end up dying at the hands of wild Pokémon!
Did people really believe everyone was the strongest rookie from Pallet Town, able to defeat wild Pokémon barehanded?
If that were the case, Zhang Feng might survive leaving Littleroot Town, but he wouldn't make it back alive!
So how could he dream of becoming the world’s greatest trainer?
Looks like his journey was about to end before it even began!
Just as Zhang Feng was thinking this, a clear voice suddenly echoed in his mind.
“Detected transmigrator Zhang Feng. System…binding in progress!”
“Ding! Congratulations, host, you have obtained the Divine Choice System. Noting your concerns about starter Pokémon and travel funds, a beginner’s gift pack will be issued!”
“Host, would you like to open the beginner’s gift pack now?”
Upon hearing the voice in his mind, Zhang Feng was instantly jolted, overwhelmed with joy, and his face lit up with excitement!
A system and transmigrator—it was the protagonist’s standard configuration!
Just what he needed, and here it was. Zhang Feng promptly responded to the system:
“Divine Choice System, open the beginner’s gift pack now!”
“Ding! Host has opened the beginner’s gift pack. Divine Choice System is now officially bound. Host Zhang Feng is confirmed as the sole user, irreversible!”
“Ding! The beginner’s gift pack includes three options as follows:”
“Option One: Choose the Green Orb to obtain the Sky Dragon Rayquaza, plus receive one million Pokécoins as travel funds, one Master Ball, and five Luxury Balls!”
“Option Two: Choose the Blue Orb to obtain the Ocean God Kyogre, plus receive eight hundred thousand Pokécoins as travel funds, one Master Ball, and five Ultra Balls!”
“Option Three: Choose the Red Orb to obtain the Earth God Groudon, plus receive seven hundred thousand Pokécoins as travel funds, one Master Ball, and five Poké Balls!”
At this moment, seeing the three options before him, Zhang Feng was momentarily stunned.

Whose starter trio are the Hoenn legends?
In Hoenn, trainers usually get their starter Pokémon from Professor Birch—Treecko, Torchic, or Mudkip. Their final evolutions are powerful and popular.
To obtain these starters, one must be a core member of the Pokémon League or a trainer favored by the professors.
Of course, if you belong to a top family, your starter would naturally be even better than the official trio.
For example, Steven Stone from the Stone family, the former Hoenn Champion, started with a shiny pseudo-legendary, a silver Beldum!
But an orphan like Zhang Feng, under normal circumstances, would become a bug catcher, living an ordinary life, serving as the backdrop for the strong.
Originally, Zhang Feng planned to catch a little green caterpillar or something similar, relying on the rapid evolution of bug-type Pokémon as a stepping stone toward becoming a Pokémon master.
But after receiving the Divine Choice System, Zhang Feng’s life had been completely transformed!
At the very least, he no longer had to risk his life for his first ordinary Pokémon.
From now on, with a legendary beast, Zhang Feng would undoubtedly become one of the elite!
Even if he only had one legendary for now.
Taking a deep breath, Zhang Feng began to wrestle with his choice. The Hoenn legends were famous among Pokémon fans!
Groudon, also known as the Earth God, is nicknamed the flightless one. It possesses the power to tear the earth asunder and create new continents. It’s a Fire and Ground-type legendary.
Kyogre, Groudon’s rival, is also called the flying whale. It’s a Water-type, engaged in an eternal battle with Groudon, and is the Ocean God.
Rayquaza, a Flying and Dragon-type legendary, is the Sky God. With immense power, whenever Groudon and Kyogre clash, Rayquaza intervenes to quell their conflict.
Rayquaza lives in the ozone layer and appears whenever extraterrestrial Pokémon invade, defending the Earth.
Able to take on both Groudon and Kyogre alone, Rayquaza’s strength is unquestioned!
In terms of base stats, Groudon and Kyogre each have a total of 670, while Rayquaza boasts 680!
Looking at their performances in the anime, especially the shiny Mega Rayquaza who fought six legendary beasts alone, Zhang Feng’s mind was already made up.
Of course, the grade of Poké Balls and the amount of Pokécoins—Pokémon world’s currency—seemed trivial compared to a legendary.
Regardless, this money would let Zhang Feng live comfortably for a long time!
“Well then, System, I choose…”
