Regarding Madam Wei’s wish for Wang Qiuman to meet Song Zhiyu, Song Ci did not immediately agree.
“Although Fourth Young Master may seem unruly, he actually has his own opinions. I must ask him first before bringing someone to the lady’s presence; otherwise, can I just let anyone meet her casually?” Song Ci smiled and said, “In a few days, it will be the birthday of my eldest daughter-in-law. When I have news, I will inform you.”
Madam Wei felt regretful but understood that Song Ci’s words were appropriate. It would be improper to press further about the meeting, lest she appear overly eager and lose face.
“You are so considerate, dear sister. I understand,” Madam Wei said, no longer mentioning the matter. Instead, she sighed, “Now that I’m older, I worry about the children’s marriages. Especially since this girl has won my heart, I wish to find her a good match to honor my late brother’s family.”
As she spoke, she wiped tears from the corners of her eyes.

Wang Qiuman placed a soft cushion at her waist and leaned against it, smiling as she replied, “Miss Song Er is very talkative and lively. She is quite easy to get along with.”
“People say Miss Song Er is spoiled and willful. It’s impressive you can find praises for her. But though she is a bit arrogant and domineering, she’s essentially kind-hearted. Otherwise, your great-aunt wouldn’t have trusted you to associate with her.”
Wang Qiuman nodded. “That is true.”
After all, Song Ruoqi was just a child spoiled by her parents’ indulgence, not someone with ill intentions, merely very headstrong.
Understandably so, with both parents alive and her father holding a high position, being pampered was natural—unlike herself.

In her heart, she sighed softly, uncertain whether Man’er was truly blessed. The Fourth Young Master of the Song family was indeed an excellent choice. Song Ci was also easier to get along with than before. Ah, such worries!
